Dr. Matt O'Reilly is Lead Pastor at Hope Hull United Methodist Church near Montgomery, Alabama, a fellow of the Center for Pastor Theologians, and Director of Research at Wesley Biblical Seminary where he leads the doctoral program and teaches New Testament, preaching, and pastoral ministry.
A two-time recipient of the John Stott Award for Pastoral Engagement, Matt is author of Paul and the Resurrected Body, The Letters to the Thessalonians, and Bless the Nations. His essays have appeared in both scholarly and popular-level publications, and he speaks regularly at churches and conference gatherings.
Matt O'Reilly offers a lucid, ground-breaking study of the relation between eschatology and ethics in the writings of Paul. O'Reilly argues convincingly for the various ways in which Paul's resurrection doctrine...is intended to shape...the social identity of members of the various Pauline churches.
STEPHEN C. BARTON,
This year’s speaker was Matt O’Reilly…I met him in January and was confident that he would bring a depth and an excellence to our conversation at Lake Junaluska. I was unprepared, however, for just how deep and just how excellent his talk would be.

This book [Paul and the Resurrected Body] is highly recommended. It merits a place in the reference library of every homilist and biblical scholar.
